Lookouts Defeat Diamond Jaxx 3-1

Tyler Pelland allowed one hit over six scoreless innings as visiting Chattanooga handed West Tenn its 10th straight loss, 3-1, on Friday.
Pelland (9-5) struck out six and walked three while lowering his ERA to 3.99. The 22-year-old left-hander has given up one run in his last 12 innings and has won three of his last four decisions.
Brock Till fanned one in a perfect ninth for his sixth save.
The Lookouts (37-30) snapped a scoreless tie in the third when Rafael Motooka doubled, advanced on an error by first baseman Brandon Singon and came home on Chris Dickerson's double-play grounder. Paul Janish doubled in Joey Votto in the fourth and Jeff Bannon launched a solo homer, his third, in the seventh.
The Diamond Jaxx (29-38) scored their lone run in the eighth when Chris Walker singled and came home on Scott Moore's base hit to center field.
West Tenn starter Chris Shaver (7-10) yielded three runs on six hits and a walk while fanning four in seven frames. --Ryan McConnell/MLB.com
