Bio:
Phil Plantier is in his first season as a coach for the Diamond Jaxx. The Poway, California resident was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 11th round of the 1987 June draft and spent 11 seasons as a professional baseball player. Plantier saw action in the Major Leagues from 1990-1998. Since retiring from baseball, Plantier earned a B.A. in social science from California State University San Marcos. He is currently pursuing a post-graduate degree.
Plantier and his wife, Jennifer, have three children, Ryan, Tyler, and Emily.
